The War Within...

Being a Christian is hard. It's an everyday battle fighting to be in the Spirit and not of the world. Paul talks about this war in Romans 7 saying,

"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For What I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do-- This I keep on doing (v. 17-18)."

Paul recognizes this struggle. It's nothing that is simple and we cannot win this battle on our own. If we try we will fail.

How do we defeat the world's desires? Simple. We find this answer in verse 24-25 as Paul writes, "Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to GOD-- through Jesus Christ our Lord!" Every single day we cry out to Jesus. We fall on our knees and cry out for help and give God all the glory, after-all, that is why we are on this earth; to bring Him all the glory!
